Spawned in the shadow, or shall we say stench, of a chicken factory in 2003, the
Calgary Animated Objects Society, a.k.a. CAOS, burst onto the art scene with a
mandate to develop and promote the arts of puppetry, mask, and animated
objects. Bringing the world's best manipulators to Calgary is our primary
obsession.

The International Festival of Animated Objects (IFAO) is a biennial celebration
of the arts of mask, puppetry and all things animated.
THE UPCOMING FESTIVAL IS JANUARY 19-28, 2007.
During a ten day period in January, every two years we present over 60 events
including main-stage shows, workshops, lectures, outreach activities,
screenings and exhibitions for adults and children, all taking place in several
venues in downtown Calgary.
The festival is curated by Xstine P. Cook (a founder and former co-artistic
director of Green Fools Theatre).
The 2007 Festival will feature Ronnie Burkett ("Ten Days on Earth"), the Chodo
Bros. (puppet producers for "Team America: World Police"), the hilarious Paul
Zaloom, Chad VanGaalen, Kara Keith, Mooky Cornish (of Cirque du Soleil),
Rob Faust ("Faustworks"), traditional Gitxsan mask dance troupe 'Ksan, Archer
Pechawis and Jerilynn Webster and many more.
